We Are The Terrorists

So I was watching the UN speeches today and I must say it was very very funny. President Chaves of Venezuela gave one of the best speeches that I have every heard and with out so much as a pause or stumble he said what I have wanted to say for years about that moron Mr. Bush. I don’t believe in the Devil but if one exists then I am sure Chaves was right in claiming that person to be the US President. I am not sure what is worse having to listen to his dim witted dribble every time he tries to distort… err I mean explain the facts as he sees them, or that he refuses to admit that this war was the stupidest idea in the history of ideas and it is time to just let it end.

Now, I know that some of you think (if you can call it that) that this war is a necessary part of the “war on terror” but the only terror being performed at the moment in on behalf of the Bush war machine. Knowing that the military is mostly made up of the type of people I can not stand I should be happy that many of them are being killed in Iraq but then I have to remember that so are many of the peace loving and honorable Muslims of that and other countries.

That statement might come as a shock to some, “how can you call them honorable,” you might say but that’s only because you are looking at this as blind hypocrite. For years the Muslims have tried to exist and promote their religion and the welfare of their people but time and time again people have intruded on them in order to take advantage of one of their many resources.

We praise the founding murders… I mean fathers of America for their bravery and steadfastness but what is the difference between them and the Muslims of today. Too many people know nothing about the horrific bloodshed and devastation performed by the hands of the continental army but I am here to say, there was not a lot of difference between them at the “terrorists” of today. The British were taking good care of them, allowing them to have their freedoms and everything could have stayed that way but a bunch of greedy aristocrats used a few clever catchphrases and crafty arguments to talk the people into revolting.

They attacked the British and anyone that was loyal to them with a savagery not seen before. They cut off of heads and burned people alive in buildings if they did not agree with them, not to mention what they did to Indians just for “target practice”. This country was built on the blood of the innocent and the leadership of unfaithful hatemongering elitists.

But we want to call out the Muslims because of their violence, isn’t that funny. Tell me, if you lived in Palestine and one day, while minding your own business, a bunch of larger countries stroll in and say, “OK, you are going to have to leave the land that your family has been on for over 500 years because we want to give it to someone else,” what would you do. You mean to tell me you would not be mad and fight back. The American founders fought for a lot less.

We do not want to admit it but the Palestinians and Iraqis and all other Muslims have the moral right to fight back and shed blood for their cause and most of you would do the same thing. So the next time you stand on your high horse and want to say, “Kill all the evil Muslims” just remember that they are doing exactly what you would do in their shoes and maybe if we could just change how we are approaching this we could find peace.

I will give some ideas on what we should be doing latter. But for now remember, be kind and rewind.

A real Liberal Introduction

I guess it would be good to start by introducing myself -- hello I’m Alex. I am sure one day I might feel comfortable enough to give my full name but for now Alex will have to do.

As I am sure you have discovered by my username, I am a liberal. Not, just someone who throws around the name so as to get support from Move On or one of the other influential liberal websites. No, I am a true green, tree hugging, animal loving, Bush hating, gay marriage supporting, peace not war preaching liberal.

I say all this so as not to be confused with any wannabies that don the title but live a lie. I am not a democrat because I know that too many of them are fake, and that they appease people like me just to get elected and I don’t feel the need to support their agenda. I don’t talk about conservation and alternative fuel while driving my SUV to the airport to jump in my private jet and setoff to give yet another environmental speech like Al Gore. Don’t get me wrong, I think his movie is one of the most important works of the modern age and should be seen by every citizen of the world but I think that if he really wants to make change then he must also live a changed life.

Yet what makes my life the hardest is not the fakers, but instead the fact that I just happen to live the conservative hellhole of Texas. I guess I can find some solace in the fact that I reside in Houston, were I can at least survive as a liberal instead of some small cowpoke town where I might get shot for proclaiming truths such as “Bush Lied & People Died”. I am not sure what makes people afraid of the truth and I can only hope that as humanity becomes more enlightened that the people of the future might live a better life.

---

I would like that as you read this and future blogs, you will do so with an open mind. I know that for any of you conservative leaning individuals that it might be frightening to look at the world in an unfamiliar way but just as St. Paul of your Christian bible exhorted you to test everything, in the same way I only ask that you would put what I say to the test. If you find me to be wrong then ignore me or better yet, please write me and say so but I have a feeling that if you are willing to combine both your intellect, heart and beautiful inner child as a lens by which to read my words, then you would come away a much happier and better human being. Looking at things from a different perspective and asking “what it” is one of the healthiest things that we can do as people.

For instance, if some breaks into your house, it may be legal to shoot them but wouldn’t it be better to try to understand what brought them to your hose to start with, and maybe just maybe we might find they are a hurting and suffering soul, held back from achieving any real future by policies that tell us, “If you get knocked down then all you got to do is pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get back on your way.” Wouldn’t it be better if someone reached down and helped them up. Is it possible the intruder is a misunderstood victim of society that really had no choice, given his/her situation? If we new the whole story we might just find ourselves inviting them to take what we have as a way of thanking fate that we were not born into their life, where we would be the one committing the crime. And as a side note, is it really a crime to break into someone’s house who, lives on land originally belonging to other people from which it was stolen through lies and bloodshed? Just a thought…

I am sure that most of my future bolgs will revolve around a particular topic or idea but this is a good start for now. So remember be kind and rewind.
